Friendly Football match

In a bid to strengthen institutional cohesion, KWID Staff had a friendly match with Kamwezi health center IV took place on 14th June 2017 at Kanyeganyegye Play Ground starting 4:00 pm.

It ended as a goalless draw. The throng of spectators was entertained from the first minute of the match as they saw people whom they always see in offices, fields and health centers. The exhilarating Executive Director dribbled; the in-charge Rukiga Health Sub-district gave his team a clean sheet and the crowd did not stop cheering. All players from the busy KWID goal keeper to the hard working mid-fielders gave it their best.

After all the sweating, panting, kicking, running and cheering, it was time for speeches.

Reverend Tusiime, Chairman Health Unit Management Committee thanked the organizers, the players, referees and the spectators who colored the match brightly. He encouraged the habit of working together for the development of the community saying that football is a uniting sport so it should be embraced by all institutions.

The health in charge Ms. Antambire Evidence added her voice to other speakers and thanked KWID for sponsoring the match and also appreciated KWID for strengthening the social connections with the health workers.

The ED thanked everyone for sparing their time and attending in large numbers even more than she expected. She emphasized the partnership with USAIDRHITES-SW/EGPAF whose goal is to eliminate HIV/AIDS infection by 2020.

A few words from the guests of honor

 

The guest of honor who was the chairperson LC III Kamwezi Sub County was represented by the district councilor of Kamwezi Sub County; Mr. Muganizi appreciated the gesture of the friendly match and requested KWID to replicate it to other institutions in Kamwezi to foster team work.
