STRATEGY 1: ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT

Specific objective: Improved access to household basic needs. We shall equip our beneficiaries with skills in starting, managing and sustaining income generating projects, managing funds and provide information on human rights. We shall train vulnerable persons in group formation, management and sustainability; train them to form associations to practice bulk purchase, establish communal stores, and practice bulk marketing to access big markets hence big profits.BB We shall support care givers to establish back yard gardens to improve the nutrition of children and engage in commercial farming to access funds to enable them provide their children with basic needs. We shall conduct branch visits to support branch activities including savings and credit scheme and day care centre activities

STRATEGY 2: WOMEN AND GIRLS EMPOWERMENTDD
Specific objective: Increased access to service delivery in the area of girl child education and maternal health. We shall create awareness on the importance of girl child education by sensitizing community members to give equal opportunities to girls and boys most especially in education and home chores and discuss the Dangers of early marriages, defilement, forced marriage, sexual abuse, and child neglect through local theatre and round table discussions with stakeholders.
We shall advocate for increased girls enrollment, full and continuing participation in education.
We shall advocate for a conducive environment where women can freely engage in the socio-economic, political and cultural activities without being intimidated and discriminated against
We shall empower women to make informed decisions regarding their reproductive rights including HIV/IDS prevention measures and power to negotiate for safer sex

STRATEGY 3: CHILD WELL BEING

Specific objective: Children and caregivers empowered with skills, knowledge, values and practices to overcome life challenges.
We shall continue empowering children and caregivers to address hindrances to their advancement. This will be done through weekly life skill sessions, monthly executive committee meetings, clubs, exposure visits for children; monthly trainings and quarterly meetings for care givers.

STRATEGY 4: COMBATING GENDER BASED VIOLENCE
Specific objective: Community member’s capacity strengthened to prevent gender based violence and enhancement of reproductive rights strengthened
We will promote safe homes, safe communities and happy relationships through mobilizing community members to change attitudes, and behaviors that perpetuate gender based violence
We shall advocate for recognition of the right to safety through local theatre and strengthen the capacity of key community leaders to create policies that are supportive to women and children’ rights to safety.

STRATEGY 5: COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT

Specific objective: Citizens in Rukiga actively participating in democratic and governance by 2018. We shall establish pressure groups (village performance monitors), equip them with skills; knowledge, power and money to enable them transform their communities in the county of operation. This will be done through community volunteers addressing various women issues in health, education and microfinance hence amplify citizen’s voice and action.

 

STRATEGY 6: COMMUNITIES ADVANCING HIV PREVENTION

Specific objective: To prevent HIV transmission through community sensitization, community dialogues and referral. We shall sensitize community members through local theatre and dialogue meetings, refer clients to service delivery points through VHTs and peer educators.

STRATEGY 7: STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS AND NETWORKS

GGSpecific objective: Expand the space for learning and sharing information and resources with like-minded institutions and persons
We would like our work to be informed by, and have a greater impact at our beneficiaries the grassroots level. We shall negotiate for partnerships with development partners at local nazzztional and international levels
We shall complement rather than compete with other actors; network rather than conflict with other women and children voices.
We shall continue partnering with other organizations, including donors while retaining our independence. We shall engage with the private sector [including the media] without compromising our values

STRATEGY 8: INSTITUTIONAL DEVELOPMENT

HHSpecific objective: Strengthened capacity of the organization to effectively and efficiently deliver on organizational mandate. We shall improve our knowledge and information management. We shall develop a robust and participatory monitoring and evaluation system as well as establish a state of the art management information system. Amongst other things, we shall document our journeys of growth and capture women’s economic experience. We would like to be a reference point for advocating for greater representation of women in decision making. We shall thus maintain a database of all women in decision-making positions and women professionals/experts. We shall continue drawing our mandate from the grassroots and our programme of work will reflect women’s reality and promote feminist values. We are committed to building the organisation as part of the strategy and shall invest in an efficient, effective staff able to deliver the redefined organizational mandate and more fully engaged members riding a feminist agenda
